Commonly known around the world as black pearls, the pearls of Tahiti are indigenous to the remote lagoons of French Polynesia in the South Pacific.

Tahitian Pearl Feature

Tahitian black pearls are some of the rarest, most valuable pearls available and have the distinction of being the world’s only naturally black pearl.

Tahitian black pearls come in a wide range of natural colors including black, aubergine, eggplant, peacock, silver, purple, pistachio, and more. (We also carry chocolate Tahitian pearls, including Chocolate pearl earrings and chocolate pearl necklaces. Chocolate colored Tahitian pearls are enhanced to achieve this special color.)

Tahitian pearls range in size from 9mm to 16mm making them some of the largest pearls available. Black Tahitian pearls are harvested in French Polynesia from the Pinctada Margaratifera oyster.
